A hike through the Dachstein West hiking area, with the Hohe Dachstein and Gosaukamm always in view - this is how you could describe the hike via the Zwieselalm to Russbach.

We manage the ascent easily with the Gosaukamm cable car. 

In just a few minutes, we have completed the most strenuous part of this tour with the cable car. On the well-developed network of paths, this tour takes us past the Gablonzerhütte and the Sonnenalm to Russbach in just under 3 hours.

The alpine pastures and mountain huts along the way are open from June to September and the dairymaids serve excellent homemade cheese specialities. This family-friendly hike across the border from Upper Austria to Salzburg is a double treat.

Once you arrive in Russbach, the Hornbahn cable car takes you down to the valley simply and easily.

We have listed the current journey times of the two cable cars for you below under "Information at a Glance".

Our tip: Plan enough time for this hike and enquire about the return bus options in advance of the tour. Especially at weekends, the connections can be sparse.
